North Carolina Barbecue Society at Sugar Mountain Hosts Barbecue Classes With Pit Masters

imgres-4The North Carolina Barbecue Society at Sugar Mountain secures the services of North Carolina’s premier Pit Masters plus Chefs to instruct our classes. We teach the campers to cook whole hog eastern North Carolina style, shoulders and Boston butts western North Carolina style, chicken, pork ribs, beef brisket, pork tenderlion, beef prime rib and whole wild fish. Campers are also instructed how to make eastern North Carolina vinegar based sauce and Lexington style barbecue dip and rubs along with side dishes such as collards, baked beans, banana pudding and more. 

Jim Early teaches how to make some of the nationally acclaimed dishes from his published and soon to be published cook books including the Pimento Cheese featured in Southern Living.

Classes begin on July 19 and will wrap up on July 20. 

The event will be held at the Sugar Mountain Resort at 1009 Sugar Mountain Drive in Sugar Mountain, NC. 

Camp cost is $449 per person for male and female campers who are already members, with a limit of 40. This includes the cook-out and mixer, and classes on Friday night, breakfast, lunch and THE Party Saturday night, time with the Pit Masters and classes on Saturday, plus a hat, shirt, apron and recipe book.
