April 3, 2013. The High Country Job Fair takes place this Friday, April 5, at the Courtyard by Marriott from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be 19 employers and over 100 positions available at the job fair and pre-registration is not required.
Sponsored by the Watauga County JobLink Career Center and the High Country Workforce Development Board, the fair is likely to have a solid turnout according to High Country Workforce Development Board Special Projects Coordinator Rebecca Bloomquist.
“I think it will be a good opportunity to get lots of people and employers all in one place, which makes it easier for applicants and also easier for the employers,” Bloomquist said. “I’m hoping we have a good turnout.”
These are just a few of the employers to be in attendance:
• Watauga County Schools
• Catawba Valley Staffing
• Appalachian State University
• Belk, Inc.
• Lowe’s Companies, Inc-Wilkes
• Lowe’s Home Centers-Ashe
• Glenbridge HealthCare
• Tarheel Captial
• Appalachian Brian Estates
• Cracker Barrel Old Country Store
• The Meadowbrook Inn & Suites
Attendees are encouraged to dress in interview appropriate attire and bring copies of their resumes. Registration is available at the door and while pre-registration is not required, it is encouraged just to make the process of getting into the fair smoother. Pre-registration is available online.
Parking will be available at the Courtyard and overflow parking will be available at Sagebrush Steakhouse.
