June 6, 2013. James R. Milner III, CCIM, Commercial Real Estate Broker, Boone, earned the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation from the CCIM Institute, one of the leading commercial real estate associations in the world.
Earning the designation at the Institute’s biannual business meetings in Chicago, IL Milner was among 137 commercial real estate professionals who passed the CCIM Comprehensive Examination, the final component in the designation process.
The CCIM designation is awarded to commercial real estate professionals upon completion of the graduate-level core course curriculum and attainment of a qualifying level of experience. The CCIM curriculum addresses the cornerstones of commercial investment real estate, including financial analysis, market analysis, user decision analysis, and investment analysis.
CCIMs are recognized experts in commercial real estate brokerage, leasing, asset management, valuation, and investment analysis. Since 1969, the Chicago-based CCIM Institute has conferred the Certified Commercial Investment Member designation to commercial real estate and allied professionals through an extensive curriculum of 200 classroom hours and professional experiential requirements.
Currently, there are more than 10,000 CCIMs in 1,000 markets throughout the U.S., Canada, and 30 additional countries. For the past six years, Milner has been actively working for Sweeting Appraisal Service as a real estate consultant, administrator and NC Trainee Real Estate Appraiser. “I am forever grateful for the opportunity that Mike Sweeting has given me in broadening my real estate skills. Milner is a member of the High Country Association of Realtors, NC CCIM chapter and National Association of Realtors. He was a member of the 2008 Watauga Leadership Class and assisted in the formation of Young Professionals of Boone. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Western Youth Network, Inc. and the Board of Directors for CLVEN, LLC, a subsidiary of Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity, Inc. which assists in housing related issues nationwide. He also advises the local chapter of Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity at Appalachian State University and serves on the Town of Boone Board of Adjustment.
