May 24, 2013. “The Enchanted Island” is a ballet sure to be a fun-filled performance for the whole family. Audience members will stay “enchanted” as they are swept away to a different and magical land.
On Sunday, May 26, at 3 p.m. at the Valborg Theatre, the students of local ballet studio Northwestern Studios present the story of mischievous pirates who wash ashore onto a mysterious island.
Hijinks ensue as the pirates realize there are Jewel Fairies, Pearls, Forest Fairies and Jewel Sprites inhabiting the island. Sir Arthur Sullivan, who wrote the music in the late 1800’s, provides the score for the delightful ballet.
“It’s a very funny ballet,” said director of Northwestern Studios Wendy Fletcher. “Everyone will enjoy it.”
Tickets can be purchased at the Valborg Theatre Ticket Office, at the door one hour before the ballet or through the ASU Theatre and dance link. Children and student tickets are $8 and $10 for adults.
