Halloween Fun for the Big Kids; Check Out All of the Fun Things for Adults to Do to Celebrate Halloween Night!

Oct. 30, 2013. Halloween isn’t just for the kids! Adults are getting geared up for a good time come Halloween night on Thursday, Oct. 31. Dress up in your best costume and head out for a night on the town in the High Country to celebrate the season in style. Pick a place from our list and have a night to remember!

Twigs: Come to Twigs for the annual Halloween Party and costume contest on Saturday, Nov. 2. Prizes will be awarded for the best costume, and live music will be provided by Doesn’t Madder. 

Murphy’s Pub: Dress up for the Halloween costume contest at Murphy’s Pub on Halloween night. If you win, you could win a Murphy’s gift certificate! Live music will be provided by local band NOMADIC. 

Town Tavern: Head to the Town Tavern in Boone for food and drink specials available until 2 a.m. when the bar closes. 

Nth Degree Gallery: Join Nth Degree Gallery and celebrate Halloween with the 15th annual Halloweenth Show and Costume Party will take place on Halloween night. The event is BYOB and light refreshments will be served. 

Boone Saloon: At Boone Salon, Bafoodus will be providing the live music soundtrack to the annual Halloween bash starting at 10:30. There will be a $5 cover charge as well as a costume dance-off to celebrate the spooky season. 

The Rock: On Halloween night,  The Rock will host a costume contest with prizes. The normal Thursday drink specials will include $4.50 Fireball shots, $2.50 Coors Light bottles, $12 Coors Light pitchers and more. 

Char: Char will have a costume contest with prizes for many different categories, drink specials and much more. The fun is for ages 18 and up, as Thursday is college night, and Char will be open until 2 a.m.

Cafe Portofino: At Cafe Portofino, there will be new pumpkin beers available and various other drink specials available on Halloween night. In addition, the waitstaff will be dressed up in costume and customers are invited to do the same!

Town Tavern: Head to the Town Tavern in Blowing Rock for food and drink specials available until 2 a.m. when the bar closes. 

Bayou Smokehouse and Grill: Halloween night the Bayou in Banner Elk will have the Phillip Daniel Trash Bash which will include a costume contest, free giveaways and drink specials from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. 

Nick’s Restaurant and Pub: Nick’s in Banner Elk will be celebrating Halloween a day later with a Halloween party Nov. 1. The celebration will include a costume contest with prizes as well as karaoke for the public to enjoy.

10th Annual Halloween Ball at ASU: The Halloween Ball, hosted by the Pagan Students Association at ASU, is held in the Blue Ridge Ballroom at the Plemmons Student Union from 8-11 p.m. on Halloween night. This costume-encouraged dance will feature music, costume contests with prizes from local businesses, free food and more and is open to the public. Tickets are $7 at the door and $5 in advance. 

Don Winsley’s Electric Halloween: After a mesmerizing performance opening for Cherub earlier this year, ASU is getting Don Winsley back to electrify your Halloween. Complete with costume contests and everything you need to kick off your Halloween night! This event is held at Legends at ASU, and the public is welcome to attend. Tickets are $6 at the door and $4 for students in advance, and the show starts at 9 p.m.
