Café owner Rick Pedroni, also of Casa Rustica restaurant and CR Catering Co., has a great food and drink menu planned for attendants. He looks forward to seeing the community come together as the café reopens for its second season on the golf course.

“We’re in a place that is now a year old, and we’ve had a successful year. We have had great local support, so this is a good opportunity for us to take time and thank those people who have come out to see us over that year,” Pedroni said. “It’s going to be a fun time for everybody. It’s a good opportunity for us to be involved in the chamber and it’s going to be a good chance to network.”

The event will take place from 5-7 p.m. that night and will feature wine and beer from Appalachian Mountain Brewery, Grandfather Vineyards and Peabody’s.

Over dinner and drinks, you’ll also enjoy live entertainment from Blowing Rock’s own popular roots, rock and soul group, Handlebar Betty.

Band member Meris Gantt said the group will offer up “a collection of sweet, soulful folk tunes — a little something for everyone presented in a unique way.”

“What better way to welcome spring than with some fresh, mountain made music?” she said.

After Hours

Barbara Armstrong, director of operations for the chamber, commended Pedroni for his effort to coordinate with other local business owners and make this After Hours event special.

“Rick always does a great job being inclusive of other businesses. He’s always coordinating efforts with others, both in business and in raising money for nonprofits,” said Armstrong. “He’s a great example of local at its finest, in my opinion. He definitely has been a great advocate and support for the chamber.

“Everybody loves Rick’s food and, of course, who doesn’t love the chamber’s Business After Hours events? This one will certainly be well attended.”

Pedroni said guests will enjoy a menu that represents the café, CR Catering and Casa Rustica.

The Fairway Café is located at the Boone Golf Club at 433 Fairway Drive.

The café will open for the season on April 1, and the golf course will open shortly thereafter.

The café is available year-round as a venue for parties and special events and will open beginning at 10:30 a.m. when the golf course is operating.
