June 6, 2013. Wahoo’s Adventures will host the fourth annual ‘Blues, Brews, BBQ and Canoes’ event on Thursday, June 6 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. This event, which provides a venue for those who work in the High Country’s tourism industry to get to know each other, will take place at the New River Post, which is located at 3380 Big Hill Road in Todd.
Each year, Wahoo’s Adventures hosts this event for tourism employees to enjoy a day of music, food, brews and networking on the New River. Every year since it began, hundreds of High Country tourism employees flock to the area to meet their business neighbors and strut their stuff. Though each year brings more and more people, this year they are expecting the biggest turnout yet, over 1,000 people.
“This is an open invitation to the people of the High Country,” said Virginia Roseman, of Wahoo’s Adventures.
The free event, which will also include live music, will host vendors at tables and tents where they can display their specialties and give away samples of what they do. Vendors are encouraged to bring lots of stuff to give away to their business neighbors throughout the day. They are also encouraged to take some time to tour Wahoo’s new facilities, including the new gift shop, new bathrooms and changing rooms.
We do this so High Country business owners can get a better understanding of what the High Country has to offer,” Roseman said.
All vendors are encouraged to attend, and everyone is encouraged to bring their own picnic to enjoy.
There will also be shuttle busses throughout the day to take attendees to the river to go tubing and canoeing.
“We are encouraging everyone to ride the river at least once!” Roseman said.
For the event, vendors are asked to bring their own tent, or table or both, and bring samples to share with everyone present. Those who are interested should contact Wahoo’s Adventures by June 4 to RSVP to the event.
Wahoo’s would also like to remind everyone that glass containers are not permitted, unless they will be kept on tables or inside tents.
