Class on Hybrid Cool Climate Wine Grapes to be Held May 20 at the Watauga County Cooperative Extension

May 10, 2013. High Country Winegrower’s Association, Viticulture Educational series and PHARMN are proud to announce a class on Hybrid cool climate wine grapes.  The class will be taught by Hans Walter-Peterson, Viticulture Extension Specialist with the Finger Lakes Grape Program, Cornell Cooperative Extension, Cornell University, NY.

images-4The class will entail a three-hour talk with plenty of time for questions.  Topics to be discussed:  Cornell Hybrid varieties, Minnesota cool varieties, and the American varieties.  These cool climate varieties can be grown commercially in the High Country.

The class will be held on May 20, 2013, from 6 – 9 PM, at the Watauga County Cooperative Extension, Conference Center, 252 Poplar Grove Road, Boone, NC 28607.  This class is Free and is made possible  by the Specialty Crop Block Grant from a USDA program funded by the 2008 farm bill, administered by NCDA&CS.
