Nov. 7, 2013. Hitting the stage with all the subtlety of an exploding moonshine still, Chattanooga’s Strung Like a Horse band, general mischief makers and talented purveyors of psychobilly slamgrass music will make their High Country debut in a free show at Blowing Rock’s Canyons on Saturday, Nov. 9.
Formed in Chattanooga in 2010 by bassist BJ Hitower, drummer Ben Crawford, “Spooky Chiclets” on bass and Clay Baselle on Guitar, SLaH are self-described junkyard dogs who “bring honest, playful, head-bangingly interactive fun” to each of their high-voltage shows.
While early November is typically a somewhat dormant period for area entertainment venues, Canyons’ Manager Stephen Beck explains that this free concert is a gift to folks who braved construction delays and parking shortages throughout parts of the recent leaf season.
“We wanted to bring a real ‘howl at the moon’ band to let our loyal patrons blow off any built-up seasonal steam they may be holding onto.”
Strung Like a Horse will appear at Canyons in Blowing Rock located at 8960 U.S. 321. The Saturday, Nov. 9 show is free, open to all ages, and scheduled to start at 9 p.m.
