Boone Post Office on Blowing Rock Road Extends Hours Two Weekends Prior to Christmas Holiday

by Madison V. Fisler

Dec. 16, 2013. The United States Postal Service announces the opening or extending of Saturday retail hours for Boone Post Office, 1544 Blowing Rock Road, during the last two weekends before Christmas holiday in 2013.

The extension will affect only the Boone Post Office on Blowing Rock Road for the dates of Dec. 14 and 21 when it will be open from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m.

The Banner Elk Post Office, the Linville Post Office and the Blowing Rock Post Office will not be extending their Saturday operating hours leading up to Christmas.

The extended hours are designed to help alleviate the holiday rush and provide additional mailing and shipping convenience to customers during what is projected to be a busy shopping season. The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.

The United States Postal Service also announced that most Post Offices in North Carolina will close at noon on both Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.

Only the retail hours are expected to change and delivery and collection times will not be affected. Many post offices with limited retail access will remain open during normal retail hours.
