Benefitting Watauga Habitat for Humanity, 20th Annual Taste of the High Country Starts Tonight at 5:30 p.m.

April 30, 2013. The 20th annual Taste of the High Country takes place tonight – Tuesday, April 30 – from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Harvest House on Boone Heights Drive.

imgres-2The annual event benefits the Watauga County Habitat for Humanity and features food from many of the High Country’s popular local restaurants including Bandana’s, Canyon’s Char, Café Portofino, Casa Rustica, Makoto’s, Pepper’s, Earth Fare, Stick Boy, Town Tavern and Woodlands. Each ticket holder over the age of 21 will receive tickets for two complimentary glasses of wine or beer.

All the proceeds from the event are directed to the building efforts of the nonprofit that provide decent, affordable housing to low-income Watauga County residents, according to a release.

Tickets may be purchased online at http://www.wataugahabitat.org or over the phone by calling 828-268-9545 before 4 p.m. Also tickets are available at participating Boone Drug locations and at Appalachian Auto Glass. 

Advanced tickets cost $25 for adult and $15 for students. Children under 5 are free.
