The Mile High Music Fest will feature Randy Houser who is continuing to climb the Billboard Country Music Charts after his hits “How Country Feels,” and “Runnin’ Outta Moonlight” reached the top five.

“Randy Houser has two number one hits and another song climbing the charts right now,” said Gina Phenneger, the executive director of the Beech Mountain Area Chamber of Commerce.

Alongside Randy Houser will be Donna the Buffalo and Sons of Bluegrass.

Donna the Buffalo has evolved into electric Americana with rock, folk, reggae and country influences. Known for remaining independent, it has become one of the world’s most famous roots bands and earned a reputation as a respected and hard working act.

Sons of Bluegrass have been playing traditional and original Bluegrass music for over thirty years. Comprised entirely of extremely talented bluegrass majors from the four year B.A. in Bluegrass Music Program at East Tennessee State University, The Sons of Bluegrass provide high quality, high energy entertainment to festivals and venues throughout the United States.

“There is a wide range of music at this festival,” Phenneger said.

“There really is something for everyone to enjoy, and the resort acts as a natural amphitheater with the slopes, so it’s going to be great.”

No camping will be available at the six-hour event, but there are plenty of lodging options from hotel rooms to cabins near Beech Mountain, said Amy Morrison of Beech Mountain Tourism Development Authority, who coordinated the event.

The event will also host food vendors, and Beech Mountain Resort will be serving beer and other refreshing beverages.

The Mile High Music Festival is kid and pet friendly, and blankets, chairs and coolers are welcome, however, no outside alcohol will be allowed

“We are really looking to make this a seasonal event,” Phenneger said. “We want to bring more music to the mountain!”
