North Carolina pastor and best-selling author Dr. Gary Chapman spoke to a packed house on Tuesday night at the latest workshop offered by the Boone Area Chamber of Commerce.

The sold-out program featured an hour-long presentation of Chapman’s book, The 5 Languages of Appreciation in the Workplace, helping business owners and employees in the crowd learn how to better communicate with one another in a work environment.

Appreciation at Work

Following the presentation, audience members were given the opportunity to pick Chapman’s brain about his workplace appreciation plan in a Q-and-A session.

Chuck Eyler Nationwide Insurance and Caldwell Community College sponsored the program, which was held at the Samaritan’s Purse Training and Conference Center in Blowing Rock, allowing guests to participate for just $10 per person.

Most of the crowd opted to stick around and pick up discounted copies of the book and some of Chapman’s other titles, including The 5 Love Languages. Many waited in the long line to meet Chapman while he was signing copies.

Now, with copies of the latest book in tow, many of the area’s business leaders will have a chance to apply Chapman’s teachings in their own workspaces and look forward to a more fulfilling workplace environment.
