Sept. 18, 2013. Appalachian Mountain Brewery in Boone will host a free concert fundraiser featuring popular local favorite musician Anna Barnett on Friday, Sept. 20. The concert will be raising funds to put toward the recording and distribution of Barnett’s very first album.
Anna Barnett is a local favorite and a familiar face at Appalachian Mountain Brewery. A popular acoustic folk singer, Barnett is an Appalachian State University graduate who currently resides in Boone.
“My show at Appalachian Mountain Brewery this Friday will help to raise finds for my first album,” Barnett said.
“I am working to raise these funds through a Kickstarter project. My Kickstarter gives me a channel to raise the funds in a safe and organized way, but in order to receive the pledged money from backers, I must reach the project goal. My goal is to raise $3,500, which will cover all recording and production costs, musician costs and duplication costs to get the CDs printed.”
With almost $1,000 pledged as of now, Barnett needs to raise $2,500 by Saturday, Sept. 21 at 11:30 p.m. to receive any of the donations.
“It’s a little scary, but I have faith in the support of my friends and fans and I believe that the AMB show this Friday will be a great success as well as a lot of fun!”
Barnett’s music is enjoyed by all ages.
“AMB chose to hold a fundraiser because we want to support great local talent,” said Jessica Collins of Appalachian Mountain Brewery.
“AMB is proud to support her and any other great local talent we have!”
The concert is absolutely free to attend, but all donations are welcome and very much appreciated. The show will begin on Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. As always, there will be 10 great local brews on tap for guests to enjoy.
