Oct. 14, 2014. With hopefully another stellar winter season on the horizon, Appalachian Ski Mountain presents its 17th annual preseason sale from until Sunday, Oct. 26.

“A lot of people have been coming in and there is still a lot of good gear to be had,” Drew Stanley, marketing director for Appalachian Ski Mountain, said on Tuesday. “I feel like there has been a really good response from the good deals whether at the swap portion or from inventory from the ski shop. It’s still going strong, and it looks like pretty nice weather next weekend as well.”

The 10-day sale features a lively atmosphere and includes huge discounts on last year’s merchandise, a used-equipment swap shop and a raffle to win a 2014-15 winter season pass on the mountain.

“It’s a really cool atmosphere,” said Stanley. “We have music in the lodge and basically just a lot of different products – something for everyone … It’s amazing. The entire lower level of the lodge is jam packed with gear from last season or a couple years old that is discounted really deep.”

Items to be discounted up to 70 percent off include skis and snowboards, helmets, goggles, t-shirts, children’s clothing, accessories, ski and board wear and much more. Featured name brands include Burton, 686, Mountain Hardwear, Spyder, Obermeyer, Nordica, Roxy, Salomon, K2, Atomic, Rossignol, Volcom, Never Summer, Ride, 4Frnt, Line, Northwave, Gnu, Libtech and more.

Formerly known as the annual “tent sale” before the start of the season, this event is now tagged as the preseason sale. Stanley mentioned that Appalachian Ski Mountain has done away with the tent concept because of how dependent it was on the weather. Now, the event will take place at Slopeside on the mountain.

In addition to the sale, Appalachian Ski Mountain also hosts a swap shop during the 10-day event where folks can buy and sale used skis, snowboards, boots and poles. And don’t forget to enter the raffle to win a season pass for the upcoming season!
