Boone’s Winter Farmers’ Market is Still Going Strong, Check it Out Saturday at the Ag Center

PHARMN will host the next winter market on Saturday, March 5 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Watauga Agricultural Center, 252 Poplar Grove Road in Boone.

PHARMN stands for “Preserve Heritage, Agriculture & Regional Markets Now.”

The local nonprofit strives to build community through strengthening the connections between local foods and sustainable agriculture while celebrating and preserving Appalachian cultural heritage.

Part of its mission is the winter market, new this year in Watauga County, which hosts 13 vendors or more and live music twice each month during the winter months.

 

Participating vendors include:

  • Against the Grain (produce)
  • Bella Rooster Garden & Gourmet (homemade jellies and jams)
  • Brooks Farm (grass fed and finished beef)
  • Colibrei (handmade jewelry)
  • Fire From the Mountain (salsas, hot sauces and storage crops)
  • Fog Likely Farm (vegetables, wood and metal crafts)
  • Kimberbees (handmade skin care products and soaps)
  • Moretz Mountain Orchard
  • Mountain Memories Farm (meat and storage crops)
  • Owl Creek Breadworks (European-style breads, bagels, croissants and cookies)
  • Rachel Salmon Photography (local photography)
  • Patriot Roasters (local coffee)
  • Wishful Thinking Studio (handmade pottery)

Once the Winter Farmers’ Market ends in April, enjoy PHARMN’s Kids’ Corner at the Watauga County Farmers’ Market from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays at Horn in the West between May and October.
