Ready to have a good time for a good cause? Head to the Inn at Crestwood in Boone on Sunday, May 15 for the annual Party with a Purpose signature fundraising event to support the Children’s Council of Watauga County.

This year’s event will feature live music by Melissa Reaves, appetizers and champagne and a double silent and live auction from 2-5 p.m. that day.

“The reason why we call it party with a purpose is because we want it to be a party,” said Moriah Stegall, The Children’s Council’s teen parenting coordinator.

The adults-only get-together will feature “classy meets sassy” party decorations and fun for all.

“This is just a soulful afternoon with delicious appetizers,” Stegall said. “It’s good for a couple or friends.”

Proceeds from the party will help provide items for local families like diapers, which are not covered by grant funding and not covered by food stamps or WIC for parents.

“We constantly run into running out of diapers,” Stegall said. “We need sizes 4, 5 and 6.”

You could win 14 live auction packages and over 40 silent auction items including:

  • Disney day passes
  • An American Girl doll
  • Cookie-, movie night-, Valle Crucis- and 60 to 70 homemade cards-themed baskets
  • Oil change, massage and haircut gift cards

“Even if you don’t have kids, you’ll find something here,” Stegall said. “We’ve got four premium tickets to ASU’s old dominion game (which includes stadium parking) this fall, and tickets to the Georgia Aquarium and the Appalachian Summer Festival.”

If you’re a Carolina Panthers fan, you’re in luck! The auctions include 15 to 16 commemorative lithographic Carolina Panthers balls!

Buy your tickets today for only $30!

Tickets can be purchased on the event page (with a small online fee) or at The Children’s Council, located at 225 Birch Street in Boone, NC, behind the Boone Drug at Deerfield between OASIS and WAMY. The nonprofit recommends purchasing in advance.

The Inn at Crestwood is located 3236 Shulls Mill Road in Boone.

About The Children’s Council

As its vision, it believes that every child deserves the opportunity to develop to his or her fullest potential in a community that supports, nurtures and empowers children and families.

The Children’s Center features services for families including:

  • Parenting support
  • NC Prekindergarten
  • Child Care Related Services
  • Family Support Programs
  • Early Literacy

“We work with families on goal-planning and support them,” Stegall said.
