Hop to It! Easter Parties Offer Springtime Fun for the Whole Family in the High Country

Easter Party at Beech Mountain

Buckeye Recreation will host its annual Easter Party from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 26 at Buckeye Recreation Center on Beech Mountain. Join them for Easter themed games, activities and breakfast, and make sure to bring your kids and their Easter baskets for the Egg-straordinary Egg Hunt! If you can, try to RSVP to 828-387-3003, and they’ll “Hop” to see you soon!

 

Easter at the Barn at Oakwood Stables (through Sunday)

Oakwood Stables will host its 3rd annual Easter at the Barn. Bring your children to the “huge Easter Egg Hunt.” There will be fun for all ages and 1000 eggs per age group – 0-4 at noon, 5-7 at 1 p.m. and 8 and up at 2 p.m. Other activities include some horse rides, a small petting zoo, some face painting, some horse drawn carriage rides, some vendors and the Easter bunny!

Admission will be $5 per person, which includes all activities except carriage rides.

Easter Eggstravaganza in Downtown Boone

Head down to the Annual Downtown Boone Easter Eggstravaganza with your kids at 2 p.m. in the Watauga Co. Library (Queen St.) There will be arts & crafts, provided by the Town of Boone, the Watauga County Library and the Downtown Boone Development Association, and games. Your kids will make like a bunny and hop and skip down to the Jones Community Center for more games, prizes, refreshments and an eggciting Easter egg hunt.

Easter Egg Hunt in Banner Elk

Eat breakfast with the bunny at Banner Elk Café at 9 a.m.

Go down to the Historic Banner Elk School at 11 a.m. after breakfast to enjoy the Easter Family Fun in the gym. Your kids will get a chance to meet the Easter Bunny and enjoy face painting, music, crafts, games, juggling and a golden egg hunt, and the egg hunts for kids ages 1-10 will be held at 11:30 a.m.

You can even let your dogs do some egg hunting with the Pet Egg Hunt! The event is sponsored by My Best Friends Barkery and will be held on the law of the Historic Banner Elk School. All pets must be on a leash and up to date on their shots to be eligible to hunt.
