Village Vision Festival to Follow Opening Day of the Farmers’ Market on May 7 in Boone

Village Vision is back for round two! Celebrating community and local food, Village Vision has once again organized a series of service projects with the grand finale of an arts and music festival! The festival will take place on the first day of the Watauga County Farmers Market, Saturday May 7th, 2016 at the Horn in the West Park from 12:30-8 p.m. While providing a fun and wholesome space that creates opportunities for social networking and positive development in the High Country, Village Vision raises funds to make fresh local farm food accessible to all. The programs that benefit from Village Vision are the “Cost Share” program of the High Country CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) and the “Double Bucks” program at the Farmers Market.

Festivities will include:

  • Some of Boone’s favorite musical artists in the Daniel Boone amphitheater: Melissa Reaves, Soul Benefactor, Hilltop Riot, The Mercury Dames, and the Junaluska Gospel Choir.
  • Workshops on sustainability, DIY (Do it yourself) projects, health, crafts, movement arts, and play.
  • Performing arts such as dance, clogging, acro yoga and more.
  • Healing arts such as massage, acupuncture, yoga, counseling and more.
  • Kids activities including recycled craft projects, games, and yoga.
  • Craft and local business vendors and info tables.
  • “Village Vision Continues” will take place downtown at the Boone Saloon and The Local from 9pm-2am with more great music and performances including Soul Benefactor, Spun Jobs, and Foggy
