Construction of New Terrain Park Creates More Ski Options at Beech Mountain Resort

Sept. 22, 2016. Beech Mountain Resort is set to unveil a new terrain park this winter. Aptly named The Park, the newly-constructed facility is the largest terrain park in resort history. It caters to riders with rotating freestyle features, a dedicated snowmaking system, new light towers, and a surface tow lift providing top-notch conditions in the park day and night. The Park, which has more than 50 features in its inventory, now has more acreage to build more elaborate jumps and features.

THIS WEEKEND: Fly a Kite a Mile High at Beech Mountain’s Kite Festival

Aug. 30, 2016. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. On Saturday, everyone may practice his or her kite-flying skills. Then on Sunday, the experts get in on the fun. Beech Mountain Street Dances Begin Saturday, June 25, Continue Through Summer

June 24, 2016.Looking for a fun Saturday night for the whole family? Starting June 25, the Beech Mountain Street Dances return for the summer! Hosted by the Beech Mountain Chamber of Commerce, these are completely free events that take place Saturday evenings from 7-9 p.m. At the dances, an area right outside Town Hall is set up and bags of sand are spread out to create a soft dance floor. Local DJ Frank Steele plays a mix of music, from oldies and classic rock to ’80s and ’90s music, to appeal to different generations while remaining family-friendly.

June 15, 2016. On Saturday and Sunday, July 2nd and 3rd the Town of Beech Mountain will host its first Annual NatuRally Beech Weekend. This naturalist-rally style event will feature naturalist and expert-led programs, hikes, and workshops on our local environment. All programs and hikes with the exception of the Beech Creek Bog Hike will take place at/begin from the Buckeye Recreation Center, 1330 Pine Ridge Road.
