The Final Avery County Fine Arts and Master Crafts Festival of 2016 Returns August 12-14

August 05, 2016. Avery County’s Fine Art and Master Crafts Festival will return for its final weekend of the year August 12-14, where over 60 hand selected artisans will showcase their unique work. The event will be held from 1-6 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Back 2 School Festival to Help Local Students Prepare for Upcoming Academic Year

Presented by the Winkler Organization, the annual Back 2 School Festival will return this weekend for a fourth year to help kids of all ages in Watauga County pick up needed school supplies and everything they need to succeed this year. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 13 at Watauga High School, the event will be completely free of cost for families who attend. Festivities will take place in the schools gyms and lunchroom, and attendees with children with special needs may attend as early as 9 a.m. to avoid the crowd.
