The Doc and Rosa Lee Watson MusicFest ‘N Sugar Grove will be here in just a couple of weeks, and the folks behind it are working hard to make it all happen. They could still use some helping hands, so if you love this festival and want to help make it great, sign up today as a volunteer!

MusicFest is slated for Friday and Saturday, July 15-16 at the Historic Cove Creek School. Helping out behind the scenes is a great way to get to know the community, see all of the festival action firsthand and supporting a local nonprofit, Cove Creek Preservation and Development. Plus, working one or more short three-hour shifts gets you in the festival or free!

What can you do as a volunteer? Sell general admission tickets. Work an entrance gate for guests, for vendors or for musicians. Greet festival guests as a parking attendant or an usher. Drive a golf cart to provide handicap shuttles. The possibilities are endless and there’s plenty to do.

Typical shifts last for three hours.

“We are a nonprofit organization, so the entire MusicFest is run solely by volunteers,” said MusicFest Volunteer Coordinator Shelli McGinnis. “There are no paid positions. Volunteer service helps to preserve the historical Cove Creek High School building and to aid the community.”
