A Small Town Christmas in Banner Elk to be Held Dec. 1- Dec. 3 Open to Public

Join Banner Elk for the annual Small Town Christmas celebration, December 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

This year’s Small Town Christmas kicks off Friday evening with Ensemble Stage’s staged radio performance A Christmas Carol.  Saturday is filled with fun family events located through out town.  When the sun sets on Saturday, Main St will be filled with lights in the Parade of Lights!

Always a highlight of the Christmas festival, the Parade of Lights begins at 6pm on Saturday, December 2nd. Parade watchers will enjoy hearing Avery County High School’s Marching band in the parade. Those who wish to be in the Parade of Lights do not need to register. Simply decorate a car or float with lots of lights and line up before sunset.

Youngsters can meet with Santa after the parade in Tate Evans park. Banner Elk Chamber volunteers set up hundreds of luminaries to light the trails through out the park.  A train will take passengers through the park to enjoy the synchronized light show.
