1) New Caldwell JAM Classes

Caldwell JAM (Junior Appalachian Musicians) is a low-cost program that teaches children traditional music. Caldwell JAM classes will be offered in downtown Lenoir in old-time guitar, fiddle, mandolin and blues guitar for children ages 7-17. Weekly classes will begin Jan. 15 and will continue through the school year on Wednesday evenings at 4:45 or 5:30 p.m. The cost of the classes will depend on need, and will range from $3 to $10 per lesson. 2) Four-Part Caroling for Men

Area men are invited to join the 44th annual caroling tour of local retirement homes on Monday, Dec. 23. Meet at the ASU Hayes School of Music at 5 p.m. to review provided music. Tour will conclude by 7 p.m. at which time those desiring will seek food and refreshments. For more information, call 264-8811. 

3) Sanitation Department Closed for Christmas

The Watauga County Sanitation Department and all convenience centers will be closed on Wednesday, Jan. 1 for New Year’s Day. The Transfer Station and all convenience centers will be open on Thursday, Jan. 2.
