June 21, 2013. The Banner Elk Chamber of Commerce’s Concerts in the Park series kicked off last night, June 20, to the tune of hundreds cheering for their much anticipated summer music series.

Kicking off the season were High Country favorites, the King Bees. The duo played their unique version of blues and roots rock and roll for the crowd who showed up to kick back on the lawn and enjoy a lovely night of music and fun in the warm summer air.

This show, sponsored by Morning Star Mini Storage, brought a healthy sized crowd out to the park, who kicked back on lawn chairs and blankets to mingle with friends old and new and to take in the long-awaited live music show.

The lineup for the rest of the season for the Concerts in the Park are as follows:

  • June 27 – Dashboard Blue
  • July 4 – The Neighbors
  • July 11 – Wolf Creek
  • July 18 – Party Prophets with Cindy Floyd
  • July 25 – Soul Benefactor
  • Aug. 1 – Johnson Brothers
  • Aug. 8 – The Extrordinaires
  • Aug. 15 – The Flying Saucers
  • Aug. 22 – Red June
  • Aug. 29 – Whip Daddys

Each concert is held on Thursday nights starting at 6:30 p.m. at Tate-Evans Park in Banner Elk.

Miss out on the fun? Don’t worry! We’ve got the pictures to show you what you missed.
