WHS Pair Take First Place in Health Occupations Regional Competition, State Comp To Be Held in Spring

Nov. 29, 2012. Watauga High School students Maggie Cook and Austin Wilcox recently took first place in a Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) regional competition in CPR and First Aid.

The competition included 200 students and 100 teams from NW NC. The students are shown with Regina Alford, WHS health occupations teacher.

The regional competition consisted of a timed 100 question test which each student took individually. The scores of each two person team are then summed to arrive at the team score. Cook and Wilcox will go on to state level HOSA competition to be held in the spring in Greensboro.
