Titsworth Nets League’s Weekly Honors

Oct. 17, 2012. HIGH POINT, N.C. — Lees-McRae College sophomore Ally Titsworth (Holmes Beach, Fla.) has been named the Conference Carolinas Women’s Soccer Player of the Week for the first time in her career, announced league officials Tuesday.

Titsworth is the third Bobcat to earn the league’s weekly honors this season, joining fellow sophomore Sam Arendt (Franklinton, N.C.) and freshman Sarah Mahar (Jacksonville, Fla.). A native of Holmes Beach, Fla., Titsworth led the Bobcats to a pivotal 2-1 victory over rival Limestone College in league play last week, notching her first career brace to account for all of Lees-McRae’s scoring in the match.

With the double, Titsworth propelled the Bobcats to the top of the conference standings with a 7-1 record. The sophomore forward is currently tied for fifth on the team in goals scored (three) this season.

Lees-McRae returns to the pitch on Wednesday when the Bobcats travel to Salisbury, N.C. to take on Catawba College in non-conference play at 7 p.m.
