Man’s Best Friend Jumps to New Heights at Tweetsie

July 9, 2012. Celebrate the ‘dog days of summer’ July 21-29 at Tweetsie Railroad when the K-9s In Flight Frisbee® Dog team thrills audiences with high flying fun the whole family will enjoy. John Misita’s entourage of incredibly talented, amazingly athletic dogs will entertain Tweetsie guests with non-stop, action-packed performances daily at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. This family-favorite event is included in Tweetsie’s regular admission prices.

Whether snatching flying discs out of the air during a back flip, dock diving or taking a running leap off John’s back, the team exemplifies the pinnacle of precision dog training. The K-9s in Flight Frisbee® Dogs dazzle guests throughout the year on television and at special events nationwide.

Misita and his group of trainers and dogs not only entertain, but also educate people about pet adoption, pet care and how proper nutrition and training can bring out the best in any dog, at any life stage. All of the show’s canine stars are “rescue dogs” recovered from city pounds and animal shelters.

North Carolina’s first theme park offers this special event in addition to the daily offering of Wild West family fun. Experience first hand the long-ago era of cowboys and Indians, exciting amusement rides, lively shows and of course, a thrilling three-mile adventure behind Tweetsie’s famed steam locomotive. Families also enjoy the Deer Park Zoo, Miner’s Mountain and live entertainment for all ages including Diamond Lil’s Can-Can Revue in the Tweetsie Palace Saloon and Hopper and Porter’s™ Musical Celebration .
