March 3, 2012. BLOWING ROCK — Some of the High Country’s best musicians will perform at Canyons in Blowing Rock on Saturday, March 3. The bands featured are Bafoodus, The Get Downs and Upright & Breathin’. The show is free and will start at 8:30 p.m.
Bafoodus fuses jazz, rock and metal and its collective influences include Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Mr. Bungle and Oingo Boingo. The Get Downs are local R&B soulsters reminiscent of the classic sounds from the ‘50s to late ‘70s. Upright & Breathin’ is a quartet that plays old-time traditional and bluegrass tunes as well as jazz and swing music.
