Murder at the Double D Ranch at Tweetsie Railroad

May 14, 2012. If you love the game of Clue, find mysteries intriguing, or simply enjoy the wild west of North Carolina, this is an event you cannot miss. The Blowing Rock Hospital Benefit committee will present Murder at the Double D Ranch on Thursday, June 28, 2012, 6:30 p.m., at Tweetsie Railroad.

The evening begins as local ranch owner Dray Duncan’s guests arrive for his annual Barn Party Barbeque. Unfortunately, Dray Duncan is found murdered, and the murderer is one of his guests. Sheriff Remington, played by John Alley, is charged with solving the murder. The suspects include: Phoebe Duncan, aka Rosanne Peacock; Dusty Trails, aka Sid Greene; Chief Redfeather, aka John Winkler; Poccamahinee, aka Michele Novacek; Sum Ting, aka Alex Hallmark; Lucy Lipps, aka Lianne Mattar; Ace Holdem, aka John Stacy; Jenny Jenkins, aka Marsha Fletcher; Poncho Sanchez, aka Chase Luddeke; and Purdy Filly, aka Shelia Deal. Each has a reason to murder Dray Duncan.

With each dinner course new evidence is revealed and by the time dessert is served, the audience will become guest detectives helping Sheriff Remington solve the mystery.

“At the end of the evening the audience must decide why the murder was committed and who did this dastardly deed,” says dinner theatre Director Trimella Chaney.

The table that determines the correct murderer and the reason for the murder will win a spectacular prize donated by the Blowing Rock Chamber of Commerce and the Blue Ridge Mountain Club. The winners will saddle up for an evening of “Beach Music on the Blue Ridge.”

Murder at the Double D Ranch will provide a lively, fun, and entertaining evening as well as a unique experience beginning with a social hour featuring music by Dusty Trails, a delicious dinner catered by Gadabouts Catering, and beverages including frosty brews donated by the Boone Brewing Company.

All proceeds will benefit the new medical facility being developed in the Blowing Rock community. Tickets are $90.00 per person and include dinner, drinks and the show. Tickets can be purchased by contacting Megan Lynch Ellis at 828-262-9564 or mellis@apprhs.org. Act now! Do not miss this exciting evening. The tickets are going quickly.
