Executive Director Tina Krause, along with the Hospitality House Board of Directors will be hosting its annual Hope Luncheon on Friday, August 19 in the heart of the High Country at Blue Ridge Mountain Club, where the Blue Ridge Mountains meet the Blue Ridge Parkway. Presented by Linda Robinson and Patti Turner of the Robinson/Turner team at Premier Sotheby’s International Realty and Mast General Store, this year’s luncheon, Hope on the Horizon, will commence at 11:00 a.m. with a wine social and silent auction. Lunch will be served at noon with the program slated to end at 1:00 p.m.

Guests are sure to be inspired by the keynote speaker, a single mother who overcame tremendous odds and is now thriving beyond homelessness, raising her three kids and going back to school.

While homelessness was initially perceived as an issue involving just men, the latest point-in-time study shows that women and children make up 68 percent of the area’s homeless population, with families being the most vulnerable and fastest growing demographic of homelessness in the seven county region that Hospitality House serves.

The luncheon, catered by Buddy Fore and Grouse Moor Catering, will feature an impressive array of silent auction items including a Waterford Crystal Anniversary Bowl, a one-of-a-kind Alaskan moose antler carving, autographed cookbooks by celebrity chef Jorj Morgan, local art, pottery and more. Additionally, guests will have the option of purchasing a variety of table centerpieces from Welcome Home Thriftique, the upscale resale and antique store that supports the job skills training program Foundation for Success.

There is no cost to attend, as Hospitality House hosts the luncheon at no charge for attendees and event costs are underwritten by sponsorships. At the program’s conclusion, guests will be asked to contribute to the mission of Hospitality House in the form of a check or 12-month pledge.

Seating is limited and guests must RSVP online at HospHouse.org or directly to director of development Todd Carter at todd@hosphouse.org by Wednesday August 17.
