Oct. 30, 2013. The leaves are bright, the air is crisp and there is a fall taste in the air, which can only mean that it’s officially AppalFest time! AppalFest 2013 is scheduled for Nov. 1, from 12-4 p.m. at Appalachian State University.
This year, AppalFest will take place on Sanford Mall, right in the middle of ASU’s campus with activities and a great time for all ages.
Head out to Sanford Mall for the petting zoo, which will include a kangaroo, llamas, camels, sheep and goats, and make a furry friend or two. Stop by the bungee trampoline to catch some air and take a turn on the giant inflatable slide before heading over to get your face painted and much, much more.
Don’t forget to cast your very own wax hands and show off your artistic talents with arts and crafts .
After a few hours of fun, be sure to settle down with family and friends for free pizza, generously provided by the Student Government Association.
As always, admission for this celebration of Appalachian students and culture is completely free for everyone, including students and members of the community.
Take this opportunity to get outside for a while with family and friends and enjoy the autumn weather before the days start getting too cold to play outside. Bring the family or grab a few friends and head out for a few hours of free fun.
The Appalachian Popular Programming Society (A.P.P.S.) is the student run programming board of the university whose purpose is to serve as the all-campus programming organization.
