The Rain Drops North American Tour featuring Paper Diamond Comes to Legends at ASU Wednesday, Jan. 28

Electronic music fans in Boone have something to get excited about. The Rain Drops Tour, headlined by Colorado artist Paper Diamond, will come to Legends at Appalachian State University on Wednesday, Jan. 28. Doors will open at 9 p.m. Tickets are currently available to purchase online at the Legends website or at the ticket desk in Plemmons Student Union, which is open Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The Annual Shag at Sugar Mountain Held Saturday, Aug. 23 at the Sugar Mountain Golf Clubhouse

After being postponed due to rain earlier this month, the annual Shag at Sugar Mountain will finally take place on Saturday, Aug. 23. The event will be held from 4:30-9 p.m. at Sugar Mountain Golf Clubhouse located at 1054 Sugar Mtn Dr. in Sugar Mountain. “The first one was in 2010 to celebrate our 25th anniversary as a township,” said Tammy Floyd, Clerk at the Village of Sugar Mountain. “But people loved it so much and asked for it again and again so we obliged and made it an annual event.”

This year marks the first that the festival has expanded to three days, and the first time organizers are partnering with jam band Railroad Earth.
