Red Bull Athlete, Kayak Extraordinaire Dane Jackson To Teach Paddle and Roll Clinic At ASU’s Recreation Center

Nov. 5, 2012. A legacy in the world of Kayaking, 19-year-old Dane Jackson has won gold medals in three of the sport’s elite competitions: The World Freestyle Kayak Champs, the Inaugural Invitational Whitewater Grand Prix and the National Freestyle Kayak Champs. Even more impressive is that all of these accomplishments for Dane took place within the same year.

After competing in the renowned Green River Race in Asheville, Dane will travel to Boone and spend a day at Appalachian State University. Dane will teach a paddle and roll clinic that is open to both the students and community. A question and answer session with Dane will follow at Footsloggers in downtown Boone.

“We are excited to facilitate a time for the community to meet Jackson,” said Isaiah Stronach of Footsloggers.

“This is a great opportunity for the kayaking community up here to meet a great kayaker and learn from him.”

The class will be Nov. 5, 2012, at the Appalachian State University Student Recreation Center, located at 150 Bodenheimer Drive, Boone, from 3-5 p.m.

The question and answer session will be at Footsloggers, located at 139 Depot St., Boone, from 6-7 p.m.
