Support Brady Bakken; Benefit Featuring Orville Hicks and others at Valle Crucis Apple Barn on April 3

March 30, 2012. Orville Hicks, Glenn Bolick and Randy and Debra Sheets will perform at a benefit for Brady Bakken, a fifth grader at Valle Crucis Elementary School who was recently diagnosed with a rare and aggressive cancer, at the Valle Crucis Apple Barn on Tuesday, April 3, at 6:00 p.m. Bandana’s will cater food and drink with a BBQ plate costing $8.

Bakken, who is 11 years old, was diagnosed with Stage 4 Burkitt’s lymphoma, which is a rare type of cancer and one of the most aggressive cancers in the world, on January 27.

Hicks, a Beech Mountain storyteller, who spins the famous Jack Tales; Bolick, also a great storyteller and musician; musicians Randy and Debra Sheets; and others will perform at the benefit for Bakken. A silent auction will also be featured, and all proceeds will go to the Bakken family.
