Portrait of Retired Judge Alexander Lyerly Unveiled in the Avery County Courthouse

A portrait of former Judge Alexander Lyerly was recently unveiled in the Avery County Courthouse during a ceremony honoring Lyerly for more than three decades of service.

Lyerly retired in March 2014 as District Court Judge in the 24th Judicial District, which covers Avery, Madison, Mitchell, Watauga and Yancey.
