May 30, 2012. The Jones House will be holding free weekly concerts in downtown Boone every Friday at 5 p.m., beginning this week and lasting through September.

Matthew Weaver, Trevor McKenzie, and Own Margolis will start the concert series this Friday with a mix of traditional mountain and country music. Swing Guitars will follow at 5:30 p.m. with a set of Django Reinhardt-inspired gypsy jazz music.

Following a gallery exhibition reception in the Jones House, the Major Sevens will play a set on the porch from 7:30-8:30 p.m., in celebration of the First Friday festivities. The concert is free and will commence rain or shine.

The 2012 Concerts series is presented by the Town of Boone and sponsored by Downtown Boone Development Association, Mast General Store, Footsloggers, MPrints, Stickboy Bread and Melanie’s. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own chair or blanket.

The Jones House Community Center is located at 604 W. King St.  For more information, please call (828) 262-4576, and visit boone-nc.org for the complete summer schedule.
