Get Out and Give Back for the 20th Annual National Trails Day and Parkway Overlook Cleanup June 2

May 21, 2012. The 20th Annual National Trails Day will be celebrated with volunteer cleanups at the Cascades Overlook on the Blue Ridge Parkway, Milepost 272, June 2 from 9 a.m. to noon. Free Bojangles box lunches will be given to the first 50 participants.

Dr. Jim & Sue Taylor, volunteer crew leaders for the American Hiking Society, are sponsoring an event at the Cascades Overlook on the Blue Ridge Parkway

The Overlook has been adopted by KAMPN (Kids with Autism Making Progress in Nature) to maintain this overlook as Friends of the Blue Ridge Parkway. On Saturday, June 2 from 9 a.m. to noon there will be cleanup of the overlook and also hikes on the NC Mountains to Sea Trail. The Cascades Trail intersects with the MST at this location.
