Doc Watson Unable to Play Heritage Hall May 19; David Holt Will Be Taking His Place; Refunds Available

May 2, 2012. Due to poor health, Doc Watson will not be able to perform the concert on May 19 at Heritage Hall in Mountain City. 

David Holt, one of  Doc Watson’s touring partners, master banjo player and Appalachian story teller will be taking his place in a night of tribute to Doc. The winner of four Grammys, David  has performed and traveled with Doc, Grandpa Jones, Bill Monroe, Earl Scruggs, Roy Acuff and Chet Atkins. He also appeared in the film, O Brother, Where Art Thou?.

For ticket holders who do not plan to attend this event, you may either request a refund or designate your ticket fee to the Rosa Lee Watson Scholarship Fund in honor of Doc Watson’s wife. Either email or call Heritage Hall as soon as possible. 423-727-7444; paynewa@hotmail.com.
