Cindercat

March 20, 2012. Cindercat will perform at Murphy’s on Friday, March 23. The show starts at 10:00 p.m., and the cover charge is $5. Check out their sound here.

Here is the band’s bio from JamBase: Cindercat’s broad range of musical influences emerges through a unique tapestry of sound. They create a hypnotic flow, manipulating the soundscape with soaring peaks and spacious resolves. The band thrives on improvisation, continuously reshaping their live performances. As a collective of creative individuals they incorporate various forms of mixed-media to create a dynamic atmosphere at every show.

In the winter of 2011, Cindercat teamed up with producer/recording-engineer/multi-instrumentalist Matt Williams of The Eagle Room to record their debut album Remnants of Earth. After six months of refining and crafting what is being called a sonic journey through progressive post-rock, Remnants of Earth was released in the Fall of 2011. With this first studio release after four years together as a band, the album marks an important time in the evolution of their sound. From theremin infused ambiance and electronic dance grooves to shredding guitar solos and soulful jazz fusion, Remnants of Earth represents a snapshot of what makes Cindercat’s sound so dynamic.

Cartwright Brandon on Drums, Drew De Porter on Guitar and Synthesizer, Taylor Hellhake on Bass and Theremin, and Charlie Nimitz on Guitar.
