Boone Town Council Meets on Thursday

The Boone Town Council will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday, April 21, at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at 1500 Blowing Rock Road.

  • Howard Street Ventures, LLC, which is proposing a student housing and paid-public parking deck at the corner of King and Water streets, is requesting per UDO a public hearing in advance of the June 16 Boone Town Council meeting to amend the zoning map.
  • The NCDOT has released a list of eligible transportation projects (highway, bicycle, transit, airport and rail) for prioritization and the High Country Council of Governments has allotted four projects for Watauga County and one project for Boone. The Boone Town Council will pick one project to prioritize in NCDOT’s Transportation Improvement Program. Click here to view the list of all the eligible projects.
  • The Boone Town Council will consider a planned development zoning map amendment for the Rivers Walk development on property that used to be Southern States at the corner of Water Street and Poplar Grove Road/Rivers Street. The mixed-use development consists of 119 dwelling units with 380 bedrooms, a parking deck and commercial space.
  • The Boone Town Council will consider five easement agreements for the new Publix Super Markets for utilities, streets, sidewalks, a postal service access and the greenway trail.
