Beech Mountain Resort Announces ‘Learn to Ski’ Poster Design Contest Winners

Beech Mountain LogoFeb. 20, 2012. BEECH MOUNTAIN — On Tuesday, Jan. 31, Beech Mountain Resort staff judged the Learn to Ski Poster Design Contest which included over 200 posters designed by 3rd-5th grade students from all over the Southeast.

First place in the girl’s category goes Baileigh Bullard from Gainsville, Ga. Second place goes to Elyse Clardy from Greer, S.C. and third goes to Abigail Victoria Lambert from Harrisburg, N.C.

First place in the boy’s category goes to Kaleb Snider from Jefferson, N.C. Second place goes to Gabe Ocampo from Newland, N.C. and third place goes to John Rinella of Jonesborough, Tenn. and to Hayden Nance from Newland, N.C.

Honorable mentions go to Jacob Davis from Midland, N.C., Faith Greene from Elk Park, N.C., Hunter Johnson from Newland, N.C., Makenna Lewis from Elizabethton, Tenn., Tori Prichard from Warrensville, N.C., Cameron Smith from Crossnore, N.C., and Jerry “L.J.” Weathers from Harrisburg, N.C.

First prize winners receive a beginner ski or snowboard set-up courtesy of FLOW snowboards or Atomic Skis and a full day in Beech Mountain Resort’s Youth Learning Center as well two additional lift tickets and a goggle and helmet set from SCOTT Sports. Second prize winners receive a lift ticket, rental and first-time beginner lesson at Beech Mountain Resort. Third place winners receive a first-time beginner lesson at Beech Mountain Resort.
