June 10, 2013. Thursday, June 20, will mark the opening concert of the much anticipated Banner Elk Chamber of Commerce’s 2013 Summer Concert in the Park.
This performance, which will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Tate-Evans Town Park Stage, will feature the internationally loved musical sensation King Bees.
Coming fresh from a concert at Cook Park on June 8, the King Bees have played to international crowds in Rome, New York City, Paris and Amsterdam. The King Bees were founded in Boone in 1987 by guitarist/organist Hound Dog Baskerville and singer/songwriter/bassist Queen Bee Zamagni and have been rocking out the blues ever since.
As is the case with every concert at Tate-Evans Park, lawn chairs and blankets are encouraged for patrons to sit down and enjoy the music. Coolers are also encouraged, and food will also be available for purchase. Friendly dogs are welcomed as well as long as they are leashed and well-behaved. Raffle tickets can be purchased at every concert by each patron for a chance to win prizes or a cash drawing, but admission to this family friendly event is completely free.
Also available at each concert is a Kids Zone and several face painting appearances by Trish Daniels, “Face Painter Extraordinaire”.
Tate-Evans Park is located off of Highway 194 behind the Bank of America in Banner Elk.
The sponsor of this week’s Concert in the Park is Morningstar Mini-Storage located on Highway 105 in Banner Elk. For more information about this concert or other concerts in this year’s line-up, all John Heinlein at 828-260-2814.
