The Boards of Trustees for The Crossnore School and The Children’s Home are pleased to announce the completion of their merger into one organization.

The new organization will be known as Crossnore School & Children’s Home.

Brett A. Loftis, JD, remains Chief Executive Officer of the new organization and leads an executive team of six, including in Crossnore, NC, Caroline Hart, Chief Advancement Officer, Teresa Huffman, Chief Financial Officer, and Angelina Spencer, Chief Program Officer.

The remaining three officers are located in Winston-Salem, NC, and include Anthony Cortes, PhD, Chief Operating Officer, Jenny Taylor, Chief Human Resources Officer, and Meribeth Robinson, Chief Clinical Officer.

Since September 2016, when the merger was approved by both Boards, staff-led integration teams have been working to integrate programs, policies, and procedures to ensure no disruption of services across both campuses.

“For more than a century, both organizations have worked to transform the lives of thousands of children,” said Brett Loftis. “We are excited about continuing to care for children in our residential group foster care, single-family foster care, outpatient therapy, and educational settings. Providing this full continuum of care for children positions us to become the premier provider of services for children and families in western North Carolina.”
