The Watauga County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating a midnight altercation on Saturday at 310 Martin Lane in Boone that involved two weapons, a knife and a wooden stick, according to Capt. Dee Dee Rominger.

“It’s still under investigation and we haven’t been able to talk to everyone involved,” Rominger said on Tuesday. “We aren’t giving a lot out at this point.”

Aside from the weapons involved, Rominger said that three males and two females were involved in the altercation. Two of the males were injured and were airlifted outside of the county by Wings Air Rescue to a regional hospital.

According to a shift report, deputies arrived on the scene to find “one male with several knife wounds lying on the ground and one male that was unconscious lying in the roadway with an apparent head injury.”

According to one page of the incident report filed by Deputy Matt Rollins and provided by Rominger, an “offender forcibly entered residence and assaulted those within.”

Crimes that occurred, according to document, are as follows: “breaking and entering,” “assault with a deadly weapon with intent to inflict injury” and “assault on a female.”
