BANNER ELK N.C. — Banner Elk Winery & Villa will kick off its 2012 season with “An Evening With the Vintners,” a free wine tasting with wine descriptions by Banner Elk Winery & Villa’s vintners Jeff Walker and Dick Wolfe on April 26 from 6 to 9 p.m. Banner Elk Winery & Villa is the High Country’s oldest and most acclaimed commercial winery. The history of winemaking in the High Country, and specifically at Banner Elk Winery & Villa, and the future direction of our wines will be discussed.
“An Evening with the Vintners” will include a tasting of six wines, history and future of winemaking in the High Country, introduction of 2012 Banner Elk Winery & Villa season events, a bonfire, and tours of The Villa, a luxury bed and breakfast.
“We are excited at Banner Elk Winery & Villa to host this event for the community and looking forward to civic involvement in the coming year,” said Valerie Cogdil, property manager.
Tastings will include food pairings complimentary of Banner Elk’s Sushi Club. Wine by the glass will be available at half off during this event. The gift shop will be open and bottles of your favorite wine will be available for purchase.
