Weekly Crime Reports: Activity Reported Around the High Country, April 23 – May 11

The following information is provided by local law enforcement agencies.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

April 23

ARREST: A male suspect, 28, of 337 Harbin Road in Zionville, was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a revoked license. He was held under a $750 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 16.

May 1

INCIDENT: Larceny was reported at 565 Calloway Road in Boone just before 7 p.m. A Lenox heat pump coil/compressor valued at $5,000 was reported stolen.

May 2

ARREST: A male suspect, 22, of 1114 13 St. NW in Conover, was charged with two counts of possession of a schedule IV controlled substance. He was held under a $750 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 18.

May 4

ARREST: A male suspect, 23, of 164 John Miller Road in Fleetwood, was charged with simple physical assault and injury to personal property. He’s scheduled to appear in court on June 9.

ARREST: A male suspect, 22, of Meadow Hill Drive Apt. 62 in Boone, was charged with failure to pay child support. He was held under a $2,328 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on May 18.

ARREST: A male suspect, 18, of 6206 U.S. Highway 221 South in Blowing Rock, was charged with simple assault. He’s scheduled to appear in court on June 16.

ARREST: A male suspect, 23, of 113 South Slope Circle #2 in Banner Elk, was charged with driving while impaired. He’s scheduled to appear in court on June 18.

May 5

ARREST: A female suspect, 38, of 4840 Meat Camp Road in Todd, was charged with a misdemeanor charge.

May 6

INCIDENT: Calls for service were reported 606 Tarleton Circle in Boone just after 4 p.m.

INCIDENT: Larceny and breaking and entering were reported at 1641 Vanderpool Road in Vilas at 9:15 a.m. after a suspect reportedly reached through the dog door to unlock the door. Items reported stolen include a 47” TV valued at $500, an Xbox 360 valued at $200, a BC RICH Platinum guitar valued at $250 and a BC RICH Beast V guitar valued at $300.

INCIDENT: Vandalism was reported at Willow Valley Resort in Vilas just before 10:45 a.m. after a suspect reportedly drove through the golf course. The property incurred $400 in damages.

INCIDENT: Fraud was reported at 1730 Russ Cornett Road in Boone just after 11:45 a.m.

INCIDENT: Breaking and entering a motor vehicle, larceny and larceny from a motor vehicle were reported on the 600 block of New River Hills in Boone after a suspect reportedly broke into several cars and a camper and stole items. Items reported stolen include a 24” Axcess TV valued at $380, a survival knife valued at $30, a DVD copy of “Inglorious Bastards” valued at $20, a Rayzar Amplified RV TV antenna valued at $67, a flexible lighter valued at $2, a deck of playing cards valued at $5, a pink reading light valued at $5, a TV mount valued at $65, a Life Straw water bottle valued at $35, a red emergency weather radio valued at $125, a cell phone charger valued at $20 and $40 in gift cards.

INCIDENT: Trespassing was reported at a restaurant at 5714 Old U.S. Highway 421 East in Deep Gap after a subject reportedly stayed on the property after the manager asked them to leave.

ARREST: A female suspect, 49, of 138 Dutch Creek Road in Banner Elk, was charged with parole and probation violations and providing fictitious information to an officer. She was held under a $430 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 18.

May 7

INCIDENT: Drug violations were reported at 281 BRP in Deep Gap at 5:45 p.m.

INCIDENT: Vandalism and larceny from a motor vehicle were reported at a construction site at 4119 Sampson Road in Lenoir at 7:40 a.m. Vehicle parts and accessories (batteries) valued at $650 were reported stolen and other items valued at $100 were damaged.

INCIDENT: Vandalism was reported in the parking lot of 996 Fallview Lane Unit 2 in Boone just before 5 p.m. The side windshield of a van valued at $300 was damaged.

INCIDENT: Assault was reported at 4712 Old U.S. Highway 421 in Zionville just before 11 p.m.

INCIDENT: Crimes were reported at 1895-1 Howard’s Creek Road in Boone just after 10:30 p.m.

ARREST: A female suspect, 25, of 181 Smalling Road in Watauga, was charged with contempt of court/perjury/court violations. She was held under a $500 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 4.

ARREST: A male suspect, 24, of 280 Chestnut Drive in Boone, was charged with parole and probation violation and fictitious information. He was held under an $8,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 18.

ARREST: A male suspect, 48, of 3415 Hardin Road in Boone, was charged with drug violations and driving with a revoked license. He was held under a $750 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 18.

May 8

INCIDENT: Assault on a female was reported at 271 Hornblend Drive in Boone just before 8 p.m.

INCIDENT: Possession of an open container of alcohol and possession of a schedule II controlled substance were reported in the parking lot area of Mabel Elementary, 404 Mabel School Road in Zionville, just after 10:40 a.m. Two 12 oz. open containers of Natural Light were seized.

INCIDENT: Vandalism was reported at 5042 Bamboo Road in Boone just before 3:30 p.m. after a victim found a window busted out of his vehicle.

INCIDENT: Calls for service were re ported at 1790 Meat Camp Road in Boone just before 2:30 p.m.

ARREST: A male suspect, 55, of 3846 Collettsville Road in Lenoir, was charged with failure to appear on charges of possession of a stolen motor vehicle. He was held under a $20,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 1.

ARREST: A female suspect, 34, of 150 Piney Creek Lane in Boone, was charged with reckless driving to endanger. She’s scheduled to appear in court on June 9.

ARREST: A male suspect, 42, of 1160 Audell St. in Wilkesboro, was charged with failure to appear and driving with a revoked license. He was held under a $2,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on May 14.

ARREST: A male suspect, 18, of 240 Bare Ridge Trail in Fleetwood, was charged with failure to pay monies. He was held under a $400 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 18.

May 9

INCIDENT: Calls for service were reported at 107 Mountain Meadow Way in Banner Elk just after 6:45 p.m. after a package with suspicious contents was left at a campground. A large igloo cooler containing collection jars was found.

INCIDENT: Calls for service were reported at 482 Turkey Ridge Road in Vilas just after 2:20 p.m. after trash had been disposed on the property.

INCIDENT: Calls for service were reported at the Food Lion in Deep Gap, 1828 Old U.S. Highway 421 South, jut after 7 a.m. after a juvenile victim ingested a hallucinogenic.

May 10

INCIDENT: Possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana paraphernalia were reported at 100 Oak Grove Road in Boone just after 1:30 p.m. Narcotics and narcotics equipment were seized.

INCIDENT: Physical assault and breaking or entering were reported at 1351 Pine Branch Road in Boone just before 2:15 p.m. An exterior door valued at $150 was damaged.

INCIDENT: Physical assault was reported at 271 Riverside Drive B27 in Banner Elk just after 9:15 a.m. during an argument.

ARREST: A female suspect, 24, of 13010 U.S. Highway 221 North in Fleetwood, was charged with felony possession of methamphetamine, misdemeanor possession of marijuana paraphernalia and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was held under a $7,500 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 18.

ARREST: A male suspect, 44, of 13010 U.S. Highway 421 North in Fleetwood, was charged with felony possession of methamphetamine, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana paraphernalia. He was held under a $7,500 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 18.

ARREST: A female suspect, 21, of 4931 Wildcat Road in Deep Gap, was charged with breaking and entering. She’s scheduled to appear in court on June 9.

ARREST: A male suspect, 26, of 1662 Mountain View Baptist Church Road in Deep Gap, was charged with breaking or entering and physical assault. He’s scheduled to appear in court on June 9.

May 11

INCIDENT: Larceny was reported at Wahoo’s Adventure Rafting, 3385 U.S. Highway 321 South in Boone, just before noon. Sports and recreation equipment (rubber raft) valued at $3,500 was reported stolen.

INCIDENT: Vandalism was reported at 1133 Curley Maple Road in Boone just before 8:15 a.m. A Porta-Jon was damaged.

May 4

INCIDENT: Vandalism was reported at Ride with Pride Car Wash, 533 E. King St., just after 6:30 a.m.

INCIDENT: Vandalism was reported at 206 PSI Drive just before 9:15 a.m.

ARREST: A male suspect, 20, of 454 W. King St. Apt. #3 in Boone, was charged with two counts of vandalism. He’s scheduled to appear in court on May 21.

STOLEN PROPERTY: Adderall, Suboxone, a polo shirt and a button down shirt were reported stolen at 688 State Farm Road Apt. 201 just after 3:30 p.m.

May 5

INCIDENT: Larceny was reported at 281 Charlotte Ann Lane Apt. F23 just after 9 a.m.

INCIDENT: Harassing phone calls and impersonation were reported at 190 Wood Circle #3 just before 11 p.m.

STOLEN PROPERTY: A succulent plant and a pot were reported stolen at 281 Charlotte Ann Lane Apt. F23 just after 9 a.m.

May 6

INCIDENT: Disorderly conduct and assault were reported at Hungry Howie’s, 1748 Blowing Rock Road, just before 2:30 a.m.

INCIDENT: Physical assault was reported at Ingles, 2575 N.C. Highway 105, just before 2 p.m.

INCIDENT: Larceny was reported at 284 Delmar St. just after 5:30 p.m.

INCIDENT: Larceny was reported at 319 Old Bristol Road just before 11:15 p.m.

ARREST: A male suspect, 22, of 3236 Ridgewood Place Drive in Winston-Salem, was charged with two counts each of breaking and entering a motor vehicle, motor vehicle theft and larceny from a motor vehicle. He’s scheduled to appear in court on June 18.

ARREST: A female suspect, 18, of 663 Doe Branch Road in Zionville, was charged with disorderly conduct and aggravated assault of a police officer. She was held under a $1,500 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 16.

ARREST: A male suspect, 50, of 311 Laurel Forks Road in Vilas, was charged with larceny. He was held under a $500 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 18.

ARREST: A female suspect, 35, of 397 Charlie Hicks Road in Banner Elk, was charged with trespassing. She was placed under a $500 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 18.

ARREST: A male suspect, 33, of 106 Joe Dugger Lane in Butler, was charged with trespassing. He was placed under a $500 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 18.

ARREST: A male suspect, 18, of 1802 Silverstone Road in Zionville, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of methamphetamine. He was held under a $3,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 18.

ARREST: A male suspect, 23, of 104 Carlin Lane in Boone, was charged with failure to appear. He was held under a $500 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 10.

STOLEN PROPERTY: A Sedona bicycle was reported stolen at 284 Delmar St. just after 5:30 p.m.

STOLEN PROPERTY: A Bose Soundlink Bluetooth Speaker III was reported stolen at 319 Old Bristol Road just before 11:15 p.m.

May 7

INCIDENT: Vandalism was reported at 280 Pine St. just before 9:15 a.m.

INCIDENT: Communicated threats were reported at 309 Meadow Hill Drive #23 at 10:10 p.m.

ARREST: A male suspect, 50, of 311 Laurel Forks Road in Vilas, was charged with larceny. He was held under a $1,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 18.

May 8

INCIDENT: Damage to property was reported at Super 8, 2419 N.C. Highway 105 just after 8:15 a.m.

INCIDENT: Larceny was reported at the Kangaroo Pantry, 1996 Blowing Rock Road, at 11 a.m.

INCIDENT: Vandalism was reported at 200 Howard St. just before 11:45 a.m.

INCIDENT: Calls for service were reported at 576 Oak St. just before 11 p.m.

ARREST: A female suspect, 21, of 135 Antelope Run in Boone, was charged with communicating threats, simple assault and breaking and entering. She’s scheduled to appear in court on June 8.

STOLEN PROPERTY: A cigarette lighter was reported stolen from the Kangaroo Pantry, 1996 Blowing Rock Road, at 11 a.m.

May 9

INCIDENT: Larceny was reported at Walmart, 200 Watauga Village Drive, just after noon

INCIDENT: Calls for service and vandalism were reported at 157 Stoneybrook Court Apt. C3 just after 2 a.m.

INCIDENT: Breaking and entering and larceny after breaking and entering were reported at 688 State Farm Road Apt. 201 just after 3:30 p.m

ARREST: A male suspect, 19, of 1771 Union St. in Maiden, was charged with illegal left turn, provisional license and driving while impaired. He’s scheduled to appear in court on June 18.

STOLEN PROPERTY: A 55” flat screen Samsung LED TV was reported stolen at Walmart, 200 Watauga Village Drive, just after noon

May 10

ARREST: A male suspect, 53, of 183 Graggville Road in Boone, was charged with trespassing. He was held under a $750 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 18.
