Another Clandestine Methamphetamine Lab Discovered in the Area; Investigation Ongoing; ‘Arrests Expected’

May 1, 2012. On Friday April 27, 2012, Watauga County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Unit personnel responded to an area of Meat Camp Road in Todd, N.C. where a NC DOT road crew had located what they thought were the remnants of a clandestine methamphetamine laboratory.

After responding to the dumpsite, Detectives were able to confirm the items were consistent with those used to manufacture methamphetamine. The items were seized, secured and disposed of in accordance with OSHA regulations. The investigation is still ongoing and arrests are expected.

This find comes after a separate case of clandestine “shake and bake” methamphetamine laboratories were discovered in Deep Gap on April 20
