High Country Small Plate Crawl Coming in Sept.

July 26, 2012. Want to sample some of the High Country’s best food on the super cheap? Of course you do.

Crawl from restaurant to restaurant, sampling the best of the High Country’s culinary scene. Participating restaurants will offer special Small Plate Menus priced from $3 to $8 showcasing their cuisine and Chef’s talent Tuesday, September 4 – Thursday, September 6, 2012.

Each restaurant welcomes crawlers all three days during the same block of time: 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. (all day), 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. (lunch hours) or 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. (dinner hours). See details on the Crawl Passport.

Print the Crawl Passport and Maps at PlateCrawl.com. A Passport is not required, but is needed to enter the prize drawing. Prizes will be listed on the Crawl website. Present the Passport when purchasing Small Plates for validation. Buy a Small Plate at five or more restaurants to qualify for a prize drawing.

Participating restaurants are located in Blowing Rock, Boone and Valle Crucis.

Include a restaurant outside of Blowing Rock’s or Boone’s downtown core in the “5 or more” to double your prize winning chances (Passport entered into drawing twice). Qualifying restaurants will be indicated on the Passport. Drop the completed Passport off at any participating restaurant when you’re done crawling. Winners will be contacted by email.

Groups and sharing are okay, so you don’t get too full before trying all your favorite restaurants and the ones you’ve always wanted to try.

Nonperishable food will be collected at each restaurant during the Crawl for the nonprofit Hunger and Health Coalition, a program whose mission is to relieve poverty and hunger in a compassionate manner for families and individuals who are experiencing economic hardship and food shortages. This assistance may include food, medicine and referrals to other community resources. The Hunger and Health Coalition meets emergency needs while acting as a community resource assisting those in need to find a more permanent solution.

Come hungry! This is a rain-or-shine event. Small plates taste just as great no matter what the weather.
