June 2, 2014. On Thursday, June 5, The Avery County Chamber of Commerce will host the fourth annual Taste of Avery event. This year’s event will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Best Western on N.C. 184 in Banner Elk.

The Taste of Avery annual event showcases a sampling of many restaurants, catering services, breweries, dairies and other culinary businesses throughout Avery County.

“Every great community has a great food event and Avery County is no exception,” said Sue Freeman, Executive Director of the Avery County Chamber of Commerce.

“It allows people to explore new opportunities. Even if you came last year, you’ll find something different.”

The event will feature indoor and outdoor seating with live music performed by Steve Fearey. In addition, there will be a cash bar selling wine and beer from local Linville Falls Winery, Plumtree Vineyards, Grandfather Vineyard and Blind Squirrel Brewery .

The price of admission is $25 for an advance ticket and $30 for a ticket at the door. To purchase an advance ticket, contact the Avery County Chamber of Commerce at 828-898-5605  or visit the Chamber office in the Shoppes of Tynecastle at the intersection of N.C. 184 and N.C. 105.
